Depression disorders are affecting up to 1 in 3 persons in the community over their life. Most sufferers end up on medication and often antidepressants, when they seek a GP or Mental Health support.
Our Depression workshop in Perth is designed to present attendees an understanding of some of the forms of depression found in the community, how it develops, and then how it tends to affect sufferers over time. We then look at what you can personally do to challenge your depression and start to reduce the manifesting symptoms, and then depending on its cause, create the basis for healing the depressive state.
We will teach and demonstrate techniques how to address issues such as:
- How to address fatigue
- Negative thinking
- Impulses to withdraw or shutdown
- Muscular tensions
- Sleep disorders
- Effective anger expression
- Shallow breathing
We will show how depression has links to anxiety and how your nervous system facilitates both conditions based on past tendencies and defences.
Body Psychotherapy treats Depression as a body mind issue that needs to be healed with both a cognitive (mind) and a somatic (body) approach. We reveal in this neuro-science informed mini-workshop how depression can relate to trauma activation or be in turn activated by trauma.
We teach you why and how to get yourself grounded in present time, and how that relates to depression. We also will reveal the common past issues that create the basis for future developing depression, such as abuse, parental withholding of love, parental ambivalence, chaotic or addict parental behaviours, etc. We also explain why the lack of emotional expression or emotional regulation is often connected to Depression.
