Helena is a fully qualified Body Mind / Core Energetics Psychotherapist, who provides counselling and psychotherapy in Perth, Western Australia.  She sees men and women individually and also works with couples.  She works with a range of issues, including personal and relationship difficulties, parenting concerns, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, low self-esteem, weight problems, grief and loss, life transitions, addictions and co-dependence.  Helena is also trained as a Shamanic Practitioner.

Originally from Ireland, Helena is married to Richard and they have been in a committed relationship together for 13 years, now with a young daughter.  In the past few years, she organised a series of Core Energetics retreats and workshops in Ireland.  Prior to practicing as a therapist, she worked for 13 years as a Software and Electronic Engineer.  She understands the pressures of working in fast-paced and deadline-driven work environments. 

As a therapist, Helena provides a safe, empathetic and confidential environment for clients to explore their difficulties.  Her vision is to empower and enable the client to live an enriched and integrated life.  She combines her interests in Body-Mind Psychotherapy and Traditional Healing methods through her therapy practice.  Her personal experience of Body-Mind Psychotherapy is that it goes beyond “band-aiding” the symptoms and having to resort to using coping and compensation techniques.  Instead she aims to treat and heal the underlying causes of the issue.  She understands how thoughts, feelings and the inner life are sustained and reinforced in the body.  She explores limiting beliefs, energetic familial patterns and helps the client to discover and harness internal resources.

Helena has a personal understanding of the significant physical and emotional stress associated with becoming a mother and parent.  She has a strong interest in Attachment / Connection Parenting and traditional childhood rearing practices.  She is skilled in providing support and advice for women preparing for pregnancy, experiencing Postnatal Depression and transitioning to motherhood.
